FDA Issues Cautionary Instructions To Consumers On Several Contaminated Weight Loss Drugs

The FDA (Food and Drugs Administration) has reportedly warned consumers against purchasing and consuming 28 specific weight loss pills that, according to the drug authority, are tainted weight loss drugs but contain specific active and undeclared pharmaceutical components. Sources reveal that FDA has also recognized another 41 contaminated weight loss products that can increase health risk of consumers. The FDA recognized contaminated weight loss pills are namely Fatloss Slimming, 2 Day Diet, 3x Slimming Power, Japan Lingzhi 24 Hours Diet, 5x Imelda Perfect Slimming and a whole array of other weight loss pills.
It is known that a couple of these weight loss pills are marketed as “dietary supplements” and are sold on specific websites. Some of these products are known to contain only herbal/natural components but in reality they comprise of hazardous ingredients not shown in advertisements or product labels.
These contaminated weight loss drugs have not yet obtained approval from the FDA and are therefore considered to be illegal and hazardous for customers. A specific analysis by the FDA reveals certain active pharmaceutical ingredients in these products that surpass the FDA recommended levels and place the health of consumers at risk. The active pharmaceutical ingredients in these tainted weight loss drugs are namely:
- Rimonabant(a medicine not approved for marketing in US)
- Phenolphthalein( a specific solution utilized in certain chemical experiments and also an agent known for accelerating cancer)
- Phenytoin( a drug that works against seizure)
- Sibutramine( a controlled substance)
- Bumetanide( a well-known diuretic).
Sources reveal that FDA has undertaken thorough inquiry into the sale of these weight loss pills and now the drug enforcement authority is initiating recalls of certain products. However, based on the investigative results obtained by the FDA and the insufficient responses shown by the companies` to the recall requests by the FDA, the drug authority is likely to issue warning letters ,implement seizing procedures or level criminal charges against the companies.
